Corrosion failure and shot peening measures

In sulfur-containing gas wells, hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is often present. Part of the metal alloy, such as exposure to hydrogen sulfide (H2S) environment, will greatly reduce the fatigue strength. The following test results for the reaction of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) corrosion by hardening 17-4 stainless steel by shot blasting / shot peening and without shot / shot peening.

Application case analysis - Surgical implants metal also has considerable corrosion.

Shot blasting / shot peening has been proven to be successfully applied to surgical implants of stainless steel and titanium alloy materials to improve its resistance to metal fretting fatigue and corrosion fatigue. (End)
