Introduction of Steel Shot

- Sep 11, 2017 -

The steel shot is made of high quality steel scrap, which is first melted and then sprayed with high pressure water to form a pellet of molten steel, and the resulting pellets are heated again to purify the homogenization and then quenched.

The quenched pellets are dried in a furnace and reheated and tempered to achieve proper hardness. The tempered steel balls are sorted by mechanical screens to 11 grades that meet the SAE standard for use in shot blasting equipment The Different particle size and hardness of the product for different processes, such as surface strengthening.

Steel shot balls are widely used in the descending and descaling of steel workpieces before use. In this case, centrifugal shot blasting equipment is often used. The shape of the ball and the smaller hardness of the steel shot will not produce greater wear on the equipment. Steel shot is also widely used in the casting industry, when the workpiece removed from the mold, with steel balls to remove the surface of the workpiece sand. When steel balls are used with suitable equipment, it is certainly the best abrasive for your surface cleaning because of its durability.
