What's tempering?

Reheated after hardening of the workpiece to below the lower critical temperature Ac1 (heating pearlite to

austenite transformation start temperature) to the appropriate temperature, heat preservation for a period of time after cooling in air or water, oil and other medium metal heat treatment process.Or the hardened alloy workpiece is heated to an appropriate temperature, kept warm for some time, and then cooled slowly or quickly. It is generally used to reduce or eliminate internal stress in hardened steel or to reduce its hardness and strength to improve its ductility or toughness. After quenching the workpiece should be tempered in time, through the combination of quenching and tempering, the required mechanical properties can be obtained.

It means tempering is very important step during production of steel shot, steel grit etc.Specially for steel shot, tempering is the most important step during production process.Without tempering, all steel shots will be easy to be broken into powders soon, because its hardness is over 60HRC.And even if tempered steel shot but with bad technology of tempering,it will be also in bad quality. In Frandcom,we have plenty of exprience of tempering, our engineers know how to make the best quality of steel shots with tempering.Frandcom's steel shots has hardness of around 46HRC,it's the best point of hardness for blasting and peening etc. Also if you have special applications, like you need hardness at 48HRC or even higher than 50HRC,we can make production for you as per your requirments.

Customer's requirments are our jobs,we welcome your comments.
